Hi folks,
I am writing to offer a very special opportunity to members of our mailing list (or their family members and friends): the chance to join the volunteer staff of the Planetarium. You may not be interested or available yourself, at this moment, but because you are on our mailing list, we are hoping you will help us inform those friends whom you think might be.

I can tell you that being here and participating in our programs has taught me more about astronomy and space exploration than I had learned in the entire rest of my life and as you probably know, I've been on Earth now for quite a while :-). I have really never experienced the thrill of discovery like I have here. Interacting with an academic community of professionals on the forefront of exploring the mysteries of
our Universe cannot help but be inspiring.

If you, or someone you know, is interested, we would ask you to first contact us right away by return email. We are looking for dedicated people and there are a number of steps we will need you to take before beginning to train you for a position here. We are setting up some trainings for the fall cohort of volunteers next week but if you are too busy this fall to make the trainings, it will still be possible to catch the next recruiting round which will probably be in the new year.

This fall's volunteer trainings will be conducted this Tuesday, September 4th and Thursday, September 6th, from 4:30 pm to 8:15 pm and will include attendance at and viewing of our current show "Humans on Mars."

You will need to attend both so time is of the essence in terms of contacting us.

There will be more to say once you have written, but for now let me just say that we are in an exciting time of space exploration and discovery, and the Planetarium is seeking to be on the cutting edge of educating the public in this field. I hope some of you can join us for an exciting ride this year.
